Miller Grille

On a recent golf trip with friends, we were lucky to enjoy great company, solid weather, and some satisfying meals at The Miller Grille. We stopped in a few times during the trip, and after several great bites from their main menu, we were intrigued when we learned they also offered cheesecake. On our second visit, we were told they were sold out—a sign, we thought, that this might actually be a hidden gem.

Unfortunately, it turned out to be the biggest dessert letdown of the trip.

What arrived at the table was, quite honestly, the thinnest slice of cheesecake I’ve ever reviewed. For $6, the presentation lacked any sense of effort or appeal. In a surprising twist, the hostess brought a selection of sauce bottles—blackberry, caramel, and raspberry—and asked which one we wanted drizzled on top. A generous idea in theory, but one that felt more like a frozen yogurt bar than a sit-down dessert experience.

The cheesecake itself? Bland and uninspired. The filling was flavorless and lacked the creamy richness you expect from even a modest cheesecake. The crust was practically nonexistent—paper thin, dry, and devoid of any signature flavor or texture.

We were told the cheesecake was brought in rather than made in-house, and it certainly showed. While I’ve seen restaurants use pre-made options with acceptable results, this slice missed every mark.

As much as I hoped to enjoy it, and as much as my friends hoped for a live rating worth celebrating, this one sadly lands in the “worst of the worst” category.

My honest suggestion to The Miller Grille? Remove it from the menu entirely—or better yet, consider a quality upgrade if dessert is going to stay part of the offering.
