Burtons Grill & Bar

From the moment our server proudly shared that Burtons is a scratch kitchen, I knew we were in for something memorable—and wow, was that ever the case. Every bite from our table was a hit, and after sampling my own entrée and a few from my family, it was clear this place doesn’t miss. But let’s talk about what I came for: the cheesecake.

After a recommendation from one of my followers, I made a point to save room for dessert—and I’m glad I did. Their seasonal cheesecake, served in a jar, instantly reminded me of my recent visit to Market Table Bistro. But this one? It came with a few key upgrades.

First, the portion size. At nearly half the price, Burtons delivers a dessert that’s easily shareable—though you might not want to. Second, and perhaps most importantly: the crust. More on that in a moment.

Visually, the jar is packed—literally brimming with fresh blueberry sauce and whole berries. You have to dig a bit to get to the cheesecake itself, but trust me, the journey is worth it. The filling is silky, creamy, and light—exactly the kind of texture that keeps you coming back for another spoonful. When paired with the tangy blueberry topping, it creates a lovely balance of sweet and tart.

And then there’s the graham cracker crust—sweet, buttery, and just crumbly enough to bring it all together. Unlike other jarred cheesecakes that skip the crust or treat it as an afterthought, Burtons’ version gives it the attention it deserves. It rounds out each bite perfectly.

If I have one critique, it’s this: while delicious, this isn’t your classic New York-style cheesecake. So if you’re craving that rich, dense, traditional slice, this may leave you slightly unfulfilled. But if you’re open to a lighter, more playful interpretation, you’re in for a real treat.

Bonus tip: the flavor changes seasonally based on the chef’s choice, so your experience might be a little different—and that’s half the fun.

Verdict: A refreshingly light and flavorful twist on cheesecake that delivers on taste, texture, and portion. It’s not traditional, but it’s totally worth the visit.
