After previously being blown away by Monocacy Crossing’s cannoli cheesecake, returning for another dessert was a no-brainer—and this time, it was their Key Lime Cheesecake that took center stage.
This slice arrived plated with a generous drizzle of tart raspberry sauce, a dollop of fresh whipped cream, and a halved strawberry garnish. Visually, it didn’t quite reach the same meticulous standard as the previous visit—the presentation felt a touch rushed—but that was quickly forgiven upon the first bite.
The filling was luxuriously smooth, with a gentle tang from the key lime that was beautifully balanced by the sweetness of the raspberry sauce. The graham cracker crust was moist, flavorful, and sturdy enough to support each bite without crumbling apart. While the look may have lacked the elegance of its predecessor, the flavor profile delivered on all counts.
Monocacy Crossing continues to be a standout, not just for its food and atmosphere, but for desserts that are clearly made with care. While this particular slice just missed perfection, it firmly earns its place near the top tier of my cheesecake experiences.
A near-flawless dessert—and one more reason to keep coming back.
