MacGregor’s Restaurant

While visiting MacGregor’s Restaurant during a recent work event, I found myself capping off the evening with a slice of their Vanilla Bean Cheesecake. Having recently undergone a revamp following a visit from Gordon Ramsay, expectations were naturally elevated—not just for the main course, but for the dessert selection as well.

The presentation was simple but clean. Served on a round white plate, the cheesecake itself was modest in size and decor, topped with a swirl of whipped cream and a pair of sliced strawberries. The overall look was still neat and inviting.

As for the cheesecake itself, it featured a creamy vanilla bean filling that leaned on the lighter side—smooth and classic, without trying to be anything it wasn’t. The crust was delicate and understated, perhaps a little too light for those who prefer a more structured base. Still, it did its job and allowed the vanilla bean flavor to take center stage.

This was not a showstopper cheesecake, but it doesn’t need to be. It’s a reliable, comforting option that satisfies a post-meal sweet tooth without overwhelming the palate. Ideal for those looking for a traditional flavor that’s familiar and safe.

While it didn’t quite wow me into the top-tier rankings, MacGregor’s Vanilla Bean Cheesecake earns its place as a solid choice—especially when paired with the warm service and beautiful waterfront views this restaurant is known for.
