Salt & Ivy Coastal Kitchen

During a quick sibling getaway to Biloxi, we stayed at the beautiful MGM Beau Rivage. While the trip was slightly bittersweet due to one of our sisters falling ill and missing out, we still made the most of it—taking in the sights, placing our bets, and, of course, finding time for a little dessert indulgence.

On our final night, I opted for a slice of cheesecake from Salt & Ivy, conveniently delivered via room service. Presentation isn’t factored into this particular review since it came in a plastic takeout container, but even so, the dessert still looked inviting with a dollop of whipped cream and a couple of ripe strawberries.

The cheesecake itself had a classic creamy texture with a slightly dense body—pleasant and familiar. Its graham cracker crust was minimal, offering just enough to support the base without taking away from the filling. However, for a $14 price tag, I expected something a little more memorable. There were no bold flavor notes, no house-made compote or creative twist—just a straightforward, solid cheesecake that filled the craving but didn’t exactly wow.

If you’re staying at the Beau Rivage and looking for a quick, no-frills cheesecake fix from the comfort of your room, this will satisfy. Just don’t expect it to be the highlight of your culinary adventure.
