Jason’s Deli

While on a trip to Kansas, a friend and I stopped by Jason’s Deli for lunch before our tee time. We knew that if there was one thing Jason’s Deli could deliver, it was a solid, satisfying meal. Their sandwiches never miss, so we went in expecting nothing less.

Of course, I couldn’t leave without trying their cheesecake. At just $4.19, it was an easy add-on to our meal. Unfortunately, it ended up being exactly what I feared—a completely forgettable experience.

The cheesecake itself was plain. No toppings, no flair—just a standard slice. The one positive note was the crust, which had a nice moist texture, something many places don’t get right, but when the best part of the cheesecake is the crust, you know the rest of it wasn’t making much of an impression.

It wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t great. Simply put, it was cheesecake—nothing more, nothing less. If you’re craving a slice and don’t have high expectations, it’ll do the job, but if you’re hoping for something that lives up to the quality of Jason’s Deli sandwiches, you’ll be left wanting more.

Would I order it again? Probably not. But if you’re already stopping in for a meal and need a simple dessert, it’s an easy, affordable option.

If you would like to try it for yourself, this is a chain restaurant with locations in 27 out of 50 states.
