Showroom

This was the perfect example of how the plating of a cheesecake can really let you know you’re about to be in for a treat… literally. From the moment it was set in front of me, I could tell that this Basque cheesecake was going to be something special.

Despite being a cheesecake aficionado, I had never heard of Basque cheesecake before. A quick Google search revealed that it’s a crustless cheesecake with the outside being torched, leaving the inside with a light, souffle-like texture. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint.

Even though I was already full from my lunch, I couldn’t resist taking a bite of this delectable dessert. Before I knew it, I had devoured the entire thing. The inside was so light and fluffy, while the outer layer had a slightly caramelized, bready texture that perfectly complemented the sweet, tangy flavors of the strawberries and whipped cream that adorned the side.

What really made this dessert stand out was the plating. It was artfully presented on a rectangular white glass plate, with the strawberry sauce cascading from the bottom and the mint leaves perfectly placed atop the whipped cream. It was almost too beautiful to eat… almost.

To top it all off, our server was attentive and friendly, making our dining experience at Showroom even more enjoyable. I can’t wait to go back and try more of their delicious menu offerings, and of course, have another slice of that incredible Basque cheesecake.
