Dan’s Steakhouse

Out on a golf trip this weekend, I had to order both cheesecakes on the menu at Dan’s Steakhouse! This being my first double review, I was definitely excited. Before I give my review, let me just say how amazing the service was at this restaurant. I’m obviously a cheesecake reviewer and not a steak reviewer, but boy if you’re looking for a good steak in the area, Dan’s Steakhouse won’t disappoint!

As for the cheesecake, though, maybe a different story. Certainly not horrible by any means, the issue with this cheesecake seems to be a common theme, which is the lack of attention to the crust. The cheesecake itself seemed to lean a bit on a store-bought feel for both flavors. An edge was slightly given to the strawberry cheesecake purely for the extra bit of flavoring.

The plating was simple, both came out on plastic plates that were similar in size but different in designs. Each cheesecake was given dollops of whipped cream on the sides and a touch on the top.

Overall, these simply weren’t cheesecakes to write home about. The edge went to the strawberry, not only for the extra flavoring but also for the extra value, costing only $7 versus the vanilla which was $9. I would without a doubt go back to Dan’s Steakhouse for the great hospitality and steaks, but I probably won’t have the cheesecake.
